Bitcoin, XRP, and ETH Trade Actively in Indonesia: What Does It Mean?

CFX’s daily trading summary for September 23, 2026 shows that crypto activity in Indonesia was not concentrated in Bitcoin alone. USDT recorded the highest reported transaction value at about IDR412.61 billion, while Bitcoin followed with roughly IDR125.26 billion. XRP recorded around IDR62.25 billion, Ethereum about IDR56.24 billion, and Solana approximately IDR34.97 billion.

Bitcoin stood out in transaction frequency. CFX recorded about 36,727 BTC transactions on that date, above USDT’s roughly 21,432 transactions. The figure points to broad Bitcoin activity within CFX member reports, but it does not prove that every transaction represented new buying demand.

The difference between transaction value, unit volume, and transaction frequency is often overlooked. The asset with the highest transaction value does not necessarily have the largest number of users. The asset with the most transactions does not necessarily attract the most capital. Stablecoins can also dominate transaction value because they are used to transfer value and move between crypto positions.

The data is useful for identifying which assets were active during one trading day. It should not be mistaken for a measure of long-term adoption, net fund inflows, unique-user activity, or a price forecast.

What the CFX Trading Summary Shows

CFX publishes daily reference closing prices, price changes, transaction value in rupiah, volume, and transaction frequency based on reports submitted by its members. The data for September 23, 2026 was updated on September 24 at 10:01 AM WIB.

The most relevant figures in the initial reading are:

  • USDT: about IDR412.61 billion in transaction value and around 21,432 transactions.

  • BTC: about IDR125.26 billion in transaction value and around 36,727 transactions.

  • XRP: about IDR62.25 billion in transaction value and around 13,895 transactions.

  • ETH: about IDR56.24 billion in transaction value and around 11,725 transactions.

  • SOL: about IDR34.97 billion in transaction value and around 11,541 transactions.

USDT led by transaction value, while BTC led by transaction frequency among the major assets listed above. That pattern is understandable: stablecoins may be used as transfer and trading instruments, while Bitcoin remains a common entry point, exit point, or portfolio anchor for crypto users.

How to Read Transaction Data Correctly

A single trading table cannot prove that new money is entering crypto or that one asset will rise. Four distinctions are especially important.

A. Transaction Value Is Not Net Capital Inflow

Transaction value reflects the total notional value traded. One asset can be bought and sold repeatedly by several parties in a single day, increasing the figure without showing that all participants are accumulating it.

If one trader sells BTC and another buys it, transaction value rises. The number does not reveal whether more rupiah entered the ecosystem than left it.

B. Transaction Frequency Is Not the Number of Active Users

Bitcoin’s roughly 36,727 transactions do not represent 36,727 unique investors or accounts. One user can place several orders, while automated strategies, portfolio adjustments, and asset rotations can also increase the count.

Frequency is useful for measuring the intensity of activity, but it cannot independently measure adoption. Unique-account data, active balances, and user-level transaction patterns would be needed for that conclusion.

C. Daily Closing Prices Are Not Real-Time Prices

CFX states that its displayed prices are daily reference closing prices at 11:59 PM WIB, not real-time trading prices. Those figures should therefore not be used as current entry or exit levels.

Timing matters when global crypto markets move quickly. BTC, ETH, XRP, and SOL may trade at materially different prices after the daily reference close. Traders who need current prices must check the real-time data, spread, and liquidity available through the service they use.

D. The Data Comes from CFX Member Reports

The transaction value, volume, and frequency on the CFX page are based on reports from its members. The figures are useful for understanding activity within that scope, but they are not a measure of all global crypto trading or every crypto transaction associated with Indonesia.

That limitation does not make the data unhelpful. It simply prevents one daily table from being treated as a complete picture of every Indonesian investor’s interest or behaviour.

Why Stablecoins Can Lead Transaction Value

USDT’s position at the top of the transaction-value ranking does not automatically mean it is the most sought-after investment asset. Stablecoins are often used to move value between crypto positions, hold value temporarily, and act as a bridge between rupiah and more volatile digital assets.

This means stablecoin activity can rise even when Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, or Solana are falling. Users may move into a stablecoin while waiting for a clearer market direction rather than adding exposure to a volatile asset.

The same caution applies to Bitcoin and altcoins. A high transaction value may reflect buying, selling, profit-taking, rebalancing, or risk reduction. It does not reveal the net direction of investor conviction.

Data Worth Comparing Alongside the Daily Summary

A stronger view of Indonesian crypto activity requires comparisons with other relevant data, including:

  • Monthly transaction values and consumer-account figures published by OJK.

  • Global and rupiah-denominated prices measured at the same time.

  • Spot volume, futures open interest, and funding rates when leverage is relevant.

  • Changes to the lists of approved crypto assets and products.

  • Macroeconomic developments, including the rupiah, interest rates, and changes in regulation.

Bitcoin, XRP, and Ethereum remain among the assets drawing substantial reported trading activity in Indonesia. The figures are best understood as a one-day activity map, not as a buy signal, price target, or proof that all market participants are taking the same position.
