A noteworthy assessment has emerged suggesting that institutional investors’ interest in Bitcoin may increase in the coming period. Basil Al Askari, CEO of Abu Dhabi-based cryptocurrency exchange MidChains, revealed that at least one, and possibly two, sovereign wealth funds have begun accumulating spot Bitcoin.

According to Al Askari, speaking on a podcast, these funds consider the current Bitcoin price levels a suitable entry point for long-term investment strategies.

Al Askari stated that large-scale investors are pursuing a gradual buying strategy instead of making large purchases at once, adding that this approach aims to reduce the sudden price impact on the market.

Al Askari also stated that he does not expect sharp increases in the Bitcoin price in the short term. However, he emphasized that purchases made by sovereign wealth funds could be an important indicator of confidence for the market.

He said that the entry of such large institutional investors into the market could be an incentive for other financial institutions and institutional investors as well.

Industry representatives, noting the increasing institutional demand for spot Bitcoin in recent years, state that funds with a long-term investment perspective, in particular, have begun to consider digital assets as a portfolio diversification tool. Potential Bitcoin purchases by sovereign wealth funds also indicate that this trend has entered a new phase.

The increasing interest of institutional investors in the cryptocurrency market is seen as a development strengthening Bitcoin’s acceptance in the traditional financial world. Analysts believe that if large funds continue their gradual purchases, this will not only support market liquidity but could also pave the way for other institutional investors to adopt similar strategies. However, experts point out that a long-term investment approach, rather than short-term price movements, will continue to be decisive in this process.
