Ajman, one of the UAE’s seven emirates, has launched an urban infrastructure plan as part of its Vision 2030 programme.
The Ajman Municipality agenda, AM30x30, is made up of five packages covering roads, infrastructure and sustainable mobility. It includes 30 projects worth AED1.8 billion ($490 million), the UAE state-run Wam news agency reported.
AM30x30 is an ambitious roadmap for the emirate’s future, said Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, chair of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department.
The initiative targets a 43 percent expansion of roads between 2026 and 2030, and a 33 percent increase in the length of cycling tracks by 2030.
Ajman is the smallest emirate and has a population of about 580,000.
