Grayscale Chief Legal Officer: Zcash Ecosystem Enters a New Institutional Phase After Nearly a Decade of Development
According to Odaily, Grayscale Investments Chief Legal Officer Craig Salm said the company’s Zcash Investment Trust has been converted into the world’s first Zcash exchange-traded product, trading under the ticker ZCSH. Investors can now gain exposure to ZEC through a traditional SEC-registered financial product. Zcash shielded transactions reached a record 59.3% of total activity in February 2026 and have approached that level again following the Ironwood upgrade. Approximately 4.4 million ZEC are currently held in the shielded pool, representing about 26% of the circulating supply.
Digital Euro to Offer the Highest Level of Privacy Currently Achievable With Technology
According to Decrypt, European Central Bank Executive Board member Piero Cipollone said the digital euro will provide the highest level of privacy currently achievable with available technology. Information about offline payments will be visible only to the payer and recipient, while the Eurosystem will be unable to identify either party in online payments. Banks will nevertheless continue to fulfill customer identification, reporting and anti-money laundering obligations. The ECB has selected 36 payment service providers for a 12-month pilot scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027, with the first digital euro issuance targeted for 2029.
Vanguard Acquires Wealth Management Platform Altruist
According to Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, the transaction represents only the second acquisition in Vanguard’s history. Following its completion, Vanguard will become a custodian and expand the reach of its investment advisory business. Depending on minimum asset requirements, Vanguard currently charges advisory fees ranging from 5 to 25 basis points, below typical industry rates. Most of its advisory clients are existing Vanguard fund investors. CEO Salim Ramji said the company hopes to lower barriers to advisory services and make them available to more investors.
Havenex Nears Completion of Series A Financing With Sui Co-Founder Kostas Kryptos Involved as an Adviser
According to Odaily, institutional exchange Havenex is progressing with a Series A financing round, with Sui co-founder Kostas Kryptos participating in its development as an adviser. The platform plans to support digital assets, traditional financial assets, privacy assets and real-world assets within a compliant framework and has applied for all necessary licenses. Havenex will use Sui technology while integrating assets from other ecosystems and cross-chain bridges. Core features will include multichain support, verifiable custody, continuous proof of solvency, multisignature security, quantum-resistant keys and hardware-based two-factor authentication wallets.
Better and Coinbase Launch Bitcoin-Backed Mortgage Product, Allowing Borrowers to Fund Down Payments Without Selling BTC
According to Cointelegraph, Better Mortgage and Coinbase have launched a Bitcoin-backed mortgage product that allows U.S. homebuyers to use BTC as collateral for a down-payment loan without selling their holdings. Borrowers must pledge BTC worth at least 250% of the down-payment loan, with the assets transferred to Better’s custody account at Coinbase Prime. A decline in the price of BTC will not independently trigger a margin call. However, Better may liquidate the collateral if a borrower falls 60 days behind on repayments. Applicants must be U.S. residents with verified Coinbase accounts.
Dallas Fed Says Tokenized Deposits Could Reduce Banks’ Lending Capacity
According to Decrypt, a Dallas Federal Reserve report said the instant settlement, smart contract and AI capabilities of tokenized deposits could allow customers to move funds more quickly, reducing deposit stickiness and weakening funding stability. The report estimates that a 10% increase in deposit-rate sensitivity could reduce banks’ capacity to bear interest-rate risk by approximately $700 billion. If the weighted-average maturity of deposits shortens by 10%, the banking system’s maturity-transformation capacity could decline by $580 billion. Custodia, Barclays, BMO and Swift are among the institutions advancing related trials.
Survey Finds 77% of Americans View Cryptocurrency in Retirement Plans as Risky
According to Cointelegraph, a National Institute on Retirement Security survey found that 77% of Americans consider cryptocurrency allocations in workplace retirement plans risky, including 46% who view them as highly risky. Another 53% oppose employers offering cryptocurrency investment options. The survey also found that 80% of respondents believe the United States is facing a retirement crisis, while 61% are concerned about achieving financial security after retirement. Conducted from October 24 to November 14, 2025, the survey covered 1,203 Americans aged 25 and older, with results weighted by age, gender and income.
JPMorgan Recently Evaluated Launching Its Own Stablecoin
According to The Wall Street Journal, JPMorgan recently evaluated issuing its own stablecoin. The bank has already explored institutional blockchain payments and tokenization through its Kinexys platform while launching digital asset solutions for institutional clients. JPMorgan, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Santander are also working toward forming a global stablecoin alliance. The initiative is exploring stablecoin infrastructure jointly supported by major financial institutions for global payments, cross-border settlement and digital asset trading. Its specific structure and technical approach have not yet been finalized.
Solana Treasury Company DeFi Development Launches Real-Time Data Platform
According to The Block, Solana digital asset treasury company DeFi Development Corp. has launched “State of Solana,” a public real-time data and research platform tracking the network’s market performance, staking activity, validators, yields and ecosystem indicators. The company said the platform will provide investors, developers and ecosystem participants with data on on-chain activity, validator status, total staking and yield opportunities, helping users assess the operating health of the Solana network and understand broader ecosystem development trends.
Aave App Begins Limited Beta and Introduces “Ghost Pass” Invitations to Bypass Waitlist
According to Aave Labs, the Aave mobile application began limited early access on August 26 and introduced a “Ghost Pass” invitation mechanism, allowing selected users to invite friends to bypass the waitlist. Ghost Pass holders can view their remaining invitations on the Aave App’s activity page and send them through the in-app process. Eligible users will also receive notifications by email or push alert. The application remains in limited testing, with access currently controlled through the invitation system.
