Turkey picks Nordex Group for wind farm contract
Turkey’s renewable energy provider Eksim Enerji has placed a 110-megawatt wind turbine order with German manufacturer Nordex Group.
The contract for the turbines at the Balikesir-3 wind farm in Sindirgi district, western Turkey, includes a 10‑year premium service agreement to ensure long‑term performance.
The site has elevations ranging from 800 to 950 metres above sea level.
Nordex Group is the market leader in Turkey with a 32 percent share. It has commissioned more than 64 gigawatts (GW) of wind power capacity across more than 40 markets since 1985 and generated consolidated sales of about €7.6 billion ($8.7 billion) in 2025.
In March, Ankara pledged to invest $80 billion in renewable energy by 2035 to reach its 120GW installed capacity target.
Ibrahim Erden, president of the Turkish Wind Energy Association, said in January that he expected Turkey to issue its first offshore wind farm tenders by the end of the year, after installing 2GW of wind energy capacity in 2025.
