Pi Network has officially begun its transition toward Protocol 24 after successfully completing the network-wide upgrade to Protocol 23. The Pi Core Team confirmed on May 27 that all mainnet nodes must complete the mandatory upgrade to version 24.1. Before the June 2 deadline to remain connected to the network.

The latest Pi Network latest news marks another major infrastructure step for the project as developers continue sequential upgrades from v19 toward the anticipated v26 rollout. At the same time, Pi community moderators have intensified efforts against fake “Global Consensus Value” (GCV) hype and scam campaigns. That spreads unrealistic price narratives across social media. According to the Pi Core Team, node operators who fail to upgrade before June 2 may lose access to the Pi Mainnet 2026 ecosystem. It includes network participation and future rewards.

Pi Network Begins Protocol 24 Upgrade

The current migration moves the network from Protocol 23 to Protocol 24.1. Developers described the update as a fast backend upgrade focused mainly on ledger improvements and infrastructure optimization.

The official upgrade sequence now includes:

19.1 → 19.6 → 19.9 → 20.2 → 21.2 → 22.1 → 23.0 → ➡24.1 → 25.1 → 26.0

The Pi Core Team also introduced a new Linux-based Pi Node CLI tool to simplify upgrades and Docker management for node operators. Windows and macOS users largely receive updates automatically through Pi Desktop.

According to official guidance, the current Pi Node Upgrade should take less than 15 minutes in most cases. However, operators were warned not to upgrade all nodes simultaneously to avoid network disruption. Meanwhile, the roadmap continues moving toward:

  • June 2, 2026: Mandatory completion of Protocol 24
  • June 15, 2026: Planned migration toward Protocol 25
  • Future rollout of Protocol 26

Developers say these upgrades are critical for improving scalability, synchronization, and long-term ecosystem readiness.

Pi Community Pushes Back Against GCV Scams

Alongside the technical rollout, Pi community leaders also issued strong warnings against ongoing Pi GCV Scam campaigns. Several viral posts claimed that Pi had an officially recognized “Global Consensus Value” tied to unrealistic sky-high price targets. However, Pi community moderators stressed that the Pi Core Team has never endorsed fixed GCV pricing models. Community posts accused scam streamers and influencers of spreading false wealth narratives. It includes misleading users and promoting unrealistic expectations around Pi Network price 2026 projections.

Moderators reportedly banned several accounts and chat participants connected to aggressive GCV promotion campaigns. One widely shared community statement said Pi’s real value will come from actual ecosystem adoption rather than “shouting inflated prices online.” The community also warned users about fake rumors surrounding a supposed “Shanghai Pi Pioneer Building” event. That allegedly involved Pi founders Nicolas Kokkalis and Chengdiao Fan. According to moderators, no official confirmation exists for those claims.

Long-Term Infrastructure Remains the Main Focus

Despite ongoing speculation, Pi Network continues focusing primarily on backend infrastructure instead of short-term hype. Developers clarified that updates involving PiDex, smart contracts, and ecosystem applications are separate from blockchain protocol upgrades. In other words, Protocol 24 mainly improves the network foundation rather than launching visible consumer features immediately.

That distinction has become increasingly important as Pi Network balances rapid community growth with long-term technical stability. For now, the project’s message remains clear. Complete the mandatory upgrade, avoid scam narratives, and focus on real ecosystem development instead of unrealistic price speculation.
