Diesel in West Malaysia down 30 sen

PETALING JAYA: The price of diesel in West Malaysia will reduce by 30 sen from tomorrow, the finance ministry announced today.

The price of diesel in the peninsula will go down from RM4.67 a litre currently to RM4.37, while diesel will continue to retail at the subsidised price of RM2.15 a litre in East Malaysia.

The price of RON97 will remain at RM4.35 per litre while unsubsidised RON95 will continue to be priced at RM3.72 per litre.

RON95 sold under the BUDI95 scheme will meanwhile continue to be sold at RM1.99 per litre

Subsidised petrol under the subsidised petrol control system (SKPS) will remain at RM2.05 per litre, while subsidised diesel under the subsidised diesel control system (SKDS) will retail at RM2.15 per litre.

These prices are effective until June 24.

In a statement, the finance ministry urged Malaysians to plan their journeys more efficiently and cut unnecessary travel to help conserve national fuel reserves amid continued global supply uncertainty.

“The government will continue to take a balanced approach to continue protecting Malaysians, while managing the nation’s finances responsibly and guaranteeing fuel supply,” it said.
