PUTRAJAYA: Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Kelestarian Alam (NRES) akan memberi kerjasama penuh dan menyeluruh kepada Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) dalam siasatan berhubung proses pemindahan tiga ekor gajah Asia dikenali Dara, Amoi dan Kelat (DAK) dari Zoo Taiping ke Zoo Tennoji di Osaka, Jepun.

Menteri Sumber Asli dan Kelestarian Alam, Arthur Joseph Kurup, berkata kementerian mengambil maklum mengenai siasatan yang sedang dijalankan dan menegaskan komitmennya terhadap prinsip ketelusan, akauntabiliti serta kedaulatan undang-undang dalam setiap aspek pengurusan hidupan liar negara.

“NRES sedia memberikan kerjasama penuh dan menyeluruh kepada pihak berkuasa sepanjang proses siasatan ini berlangsung bagi memastikan proses siasatan dapat dilengkapkan secara menyeluruh dan telus,” katanya dalam kenyataan di sini hari ini.

Arthur berkata kementerian tidak berkompromi atau melindungi mana-mana pihak sekiranya terbukti wujud sebarang salah laku, penyelewengan atau pelanggaran prosedur dalam urusan pemindahan berkenaan.

Beliau berkata pendirian itu penting bagi memelihara integriti institusi serta nama baik negara di peringkat antarabangsa.

SPRM semalam mengesahkan kertas siasatan berhubung isu pemindahan DAK telah dibuka susulan dakwaan berlaku ketirisan dan penyelewengan dalam urusan berkenaan.

Pada 18 Jun lepas, pertubuhan Hak Asasi Hidupan Liar Malaysia (Hidup) telah menggesa SPRM menjalankan siasatan berhubung pemindahan DAK.

Pertubuhan berkenaan turut mendakwa terdapat bayaran berkaitan urusan tersebut yang tidak disalurkan kepada kerajaan selain mengaitkan beberapa individu dengan transaksi dianggarkan bernilai RM53 juta.

Franklin Templeton CEO Weighs In On Potential FOMC Decision In a CNBC interview, Jenny Johnson said that she expects the Fed to make a 25 bps cut today instead of a 50 bps cut. She acknowledged the jobs data, which suggested that the labor market is weakening. However, she noted that this data is backward-looking, indicating that it doesn’t show the current state of the economy. She alluded to the wage growth, which she remarked is an indication of a robust labor market. She added that retail sales are up and that consumers are still spending, despite inflation being sticky at 3%, which makes a case for why the FOMC should opt against a 50-basis-point Fed rate cut. In line with this, the Franklin Templeton CEO said that she would go with a 25 bps rate cut if she were Jerome Powell. She remarked that the Fed still has the October and December FOMC meetings to make further cuts if the incoming data warrants it. Johnson also asserted that the data show a robust economy.
