THE documentary Food Delivery: Fresh from the West Philippine Sea, which chronicles the struggles and resilience of Filipino fishermen amid encounters with the Chinese Coast Guard, will be screened for free on July 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Design + Arts Campus in Manila. Directed by Baby Ruth Villarama and produced by Voyage Studios, the film premiered at New Zealand’s 2025 DocEdge Festival, where it received the Tides of Change recognition. Organized by DLS-CSB, the screening aims to raise awareness of the socioeconomic and geopolitical realities in the West Philippine Sea a decade after the 2016 arbitral ruling that invalidated China’s “nine-dash line” claims. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction… but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone. Based on the novel by Andy Weir, the film is rated PG-13 for some thematic material and suggestive references.
TODAY’S members of Kundirana, the well-known singing group of the La Salle Green Hills (LSGH), will mark the conclusion of their academic year through Kundirana 2026: Next in Line – The Farewell Concert. It will be held at the Br. Donato Center for the Performing Arts (BDC) on Saturday, July 4, 7 p.m. Throughout the year, the students shared their talents, touched lives, and continued the tradition of the Kundirana Music Ministry. The concert celebrates the batch while symbolizing the passing of the torch to a new generation of Kundirana artists who will soon join the ministry. The concert is open to the public. THE Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) presents Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 4: Oh Sh*t! It’s Live sa Cheter! which is ongoing until Aug. 16 (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 7:30 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.) at the PETA Theater Center in Quezon City. The franchise started with a film starring comic Eugene Domingo playing a heightened version of herself which skewered the indie movie scene. It was followed by another film and a hit series, all of which starred Ms. Domingo. She returns for the fourth entry in the series, this time a play which looks at the messy, hilarious, and painful process of making theater in the Philippines today. Also in the cast are Meann Espinosa, Stella Cañete-Mendoza, Andoy Ranay, JC Santos, Melvin Lee, Marlon Rivera (who directed the first three installments), and Joshua Lim So. A FILIPINO translation of Yemaya’s Belly by Quiara Alegría Hudes (In the Heights, Water by the Spoonful) is 9 Works Theatrical’s latest production. A straight play, Yemaya was translated by Eljay Castro Deldoc, and is directed by Ed Lacson, Jr. It follows a young person’s epic journey across lands and seas as he searches for his place in the world. It stars Bituin Escalante, Benedix Ramos, Tommy Alejandrino, Sheena Belarmino, and Ness Roque.
