GOTIANUN-LED FILINVEST Land, Inc. has turned over a 6,000-square-meter (sq.m.) property in Bicutan to the Department of Transportation (DoTr) to facilitate the development of the Bicutan Station, while advancing plans to connect its adjacent 6.5-hectare (ha) property to the future rail hub.
The property developer said the Bicutan Station will serve as an interchange between the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) and the Metro Manila Subway.
Filinvest also plans to develop the Filinvest Pedestrian Link, which will include an elevated pedestrian bridge across East Service Road and a covered walkway connecting the station to its 6.5-ha property and future developments.
“Our partnership with the DoTr for the Bicutan Station, which will be adjacent to one of our prime properties, is a testament to Filinvest Land’s commitment to building the Filipino dream by providing efficient and convenient transportation connections to potential urban growth centers and nearby residential areas,” Filinvest Land President and Chief Executive Officer Tristaneil D. Las Marias said in a statement on Tuesday.
The company said the Bicutan Station will feature a unidirectional track-sharing design that will allow Metro Manila Subway trains to run on NSCR tracks, creating a continuous rail link from Clark, Pampanga, to Calamba, Laguna.
“By dedicating this land and developing the Filinvest Pedestrian Link, we are helping build a more connected nation where citizens can travel safely, efficiently, and with dignity,” Mr. Las Marias said.
According to the company, the integrated station is expected to serve about 1 million passengers daily.
Filinvest said the broader project is projected to generate 350,000 direct and indirect jobs during construction and systemwide operations, which are targeted by 2033.
