Kraken OTC Desk Connects to ICE Chat Platform

US-based crypto exchange Kraken has integrated its over-the-counter (OTC) desk with Intercontinental Exchange’s (ICE) ICE Chat platform. This integration enables more than 120,000 market participants, including banks, brokers, and trading desks, to directly access Kraken’s crypto liquidity within their existing trading flows. Kraken has been approved as the first crypto platform to connect to ICE Chat and operates on the same infrastructure as traditional asset classes. The companies plan to expand the integration.

Large Block Trades in Spot and Options with Kraken OTC

Kraken’s OTC desk executes large block trades in crypto spot and options markets. It particularly meets institutional demand for high-volume assets like BTC Detailed Analysis. This integration allows ICE Chat users to instantly access Kraken’s deep liquidity pool, reducing market fragmentation and lowering trading costs.

ICE’s Strategic Moves in the Crypto Space

ICE is a group that operates the New York Stock Exchange and provides data, clearing, and technology services. Recently, it has focused on the crypto space: It brought forex and precious metal data on-chain with Chainlink, invested $2 billion in Polymarket, and is conducting investment talks with MoonPay. Nasdaq plans to list tokenized stocks, while NYSE plans to develop a 24/7 tokenized stock and ETF platform. These steps are accelerating traditional finance’s integration with crypto.

Institutional Access Strengthens BTC Liquidity

The integration provides seamless access to institutional investors, including BTC Futures, enhancing market maturity. Traditional institutions can now use Kraken OTC via ICE Chat for large-volume BTC trades, supporting overall market liquidity and stability.
