Knollgate specializes in partnering with both emerging brands that are at the precipice of expanding nationally to scaled operators that are in the process of expanding category by category. The Firm seeks to provide flexible financing solutions through its FlexScale^TM product that replaces the need for companies to sell equity to cover inventory and/or float their receivables. Knollgate’s FlexScale^TM platform scales alongside the companies it partners with and pays down as inventory sells through. This results in a financing path that aligns with the company’s timeframe thereby alleviating the capital challenges that many consumer brands face when scaling their businesses.

Knollgate was founded by Greg Greifeld, a private markets investment veteran who possesses extensive expertise as both an operator and investor. Prior to founding the Firm, Mr. Greifeld served as Chief Investment Officer of Runway Growth Capital (“Runway”), where he helped grow their portfolio past $2 billion across more than 70 investments. He was also an integral member of the firm’s executive team that took Runway public and served as Chief Executive Officer of the public company where he helped guide the company through its sale to BC Partners. Prior to that, he held roles as an investment professional at J.P. Morgan and HPS Investment Partners. Mr. Greifeld has also served on the boards of several companies and has significant experience advising executive management teams on a wide range of strategic business issues.
