Tokenomi FLOKI (FLOKI)

FLOKI is a multi-utility token that serves as the primary medium of exchange and utility asset within the Floki ecosystem, which includes decentralized finance (DeFi) products, NFT collections, and gaming. The token operates on both the Ethereum (ERC-20) and BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20) networks.

Issuance and Supply Mechanism

The FLOKI token was launched with a total supply of 10 trillion tokens on each chain (Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain), totaling 20 trillion tokens. However, the supply is perpetually deflationary due to several manual and automatic burn mechanisms.

• Initial Distribution: At the Token Generation Event (TGE) on June 21, 2021, 100% of the community allocation was vested.
• Cross-Chain Bridge: FLOKI utilizes an atomic swap bridge that allows users to transfer tokens between Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain at a 1:1 ratio, ensuring the supply and price remain interconnected across both ecosystems.
• Deflationary Mechanisms:
  • Manual Burns: Significant manual burns have occurred to stabilize the ecosystem. For example, in February 2023, approximately 5.10 trillion tokens were burned from the Floki bridge. In March 2024, another ~190.92 billion tokens were burned following a DAO vote.
  • Automatic Buyback and Burn: Several ecosystem products automatically purchase and burn FLOKI tokens using a portion of their generated fees.

Allocation and Treasury

The project funds its operations and development through a combination of transaction taxes and utility product revenue.

• Transaction Tax: A 0.3% tax is applied to every on-chain buy and sell transaction on both the Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain networks. These funds are directed to the Floki Treasury for ecosystem development and marketing. There is no tax on simple transfers between wallets.
• Treasury Management: The treasury consists of FLOKI tokens, BNB, ETH, and stablecoins. These funds are used for strategic exchange listings, development, and funding operations through OTC deals with institutional partners.
• Governance: The Floki DAO governs the allocation of treasury funds and changes to token functionality via off-chain Snapshot voting.

Usage and Incentive Mechanism

FLOKI is designed to provide a secure mode of payment and settlement within its ecosystem without third-party intermediaries.

• Medium of Exchange: Used to purchase prepaid gift cards via Floki Card and for transactions within the FlokiFi ecosystem.
• Staking Rewards: Users can stake FLOKI to earn rewards in TOKEN (the native token of TokenFi). 56% of the total TOKEN supply (5.60 billion tokens) is allocated to FLOKI stakers.
• Governance Rights: Token holders can participate in decision-making processes by voting on proposals through Snapshot.
• Utility Products:
  • FlokiFi Locker: A crypto locker protocol where 25% of transaction fees are used to buy back and burn FLOKI.
  • Floki Trading Bot: A Telegram-based bot where 50% of the 1% trading fee is used for periodic FLOKI buybacks and burns.
  • Floki Card: A 1% fee on prepaid card top-ups is dedicated to buying and burning FLOKI.

Locking and Unlocking Mechanism

The project emphasizes long-term stability through significant locking programs and liquidity commitments.

Staking and Lock Details

As of late 2023 and early 2024, over 25% of the total FLOKI supply was locked in the staking program. The rewards for staking are distributed over a 4-year period. The penalty for early unstaking is tiered based on the original commitment:

• 3 Months: 5% penalty
• 12 Months: 10% penalty
• 24 Months: 15% penalty
• 48 Months: 20% penalty

The staking APYs vary by chain and duration. For instance, on Ethereum, a four-year lock has historically offered approximately 36.23% APY, while on BNB Smart Chain, the same duration offered approximately 37.94% APY.
